Apologies for the gap of silence. There has been a lot going on these past few years but we’re back and ready to dress up!!!
We haven’t had the chance to properly introduce ourselves, so let us start by sharing our story. Simply Borrowed Dresses (SBD) was started by two friends (Linda and Crystal) who were coming to the age where several friends were getting engaged and asked us to be part of their bridal party. As honored as we were, we quickly realized the cost that would add up when being a part of the bridal party.
Throwing a bridal shower, attending the bachelorette party, wedding gifts and of course, the bridesmaid dress can quickly add up. The dress alone can easily cost around $100-$150 for a dress to only be worn once!
I don’t know about you, but that kind of money seems wasteful and would be better off spent on the bride. Not only that, but the dress could end up living in the back of the closet for years afterwards.
This is when the idea of renting a dress came up. We thought - if boys could have this option then why couldn’t girls? It would also be more sustainable. Too many dresses and clothes are thrown away and piling up in landfills.
Simply Borrowed Dresses wants to impact and change how bridesmaid dresses can be worn through dress rentals. It's a more budget-friendly and sustainable option. As our business grows we hope to expand to formal dresses for anyone and any occasion.
